I was watching a DVD on "The History of English Football" and there was some footage of England v. Germany in pre-war nazi Germany. The flags over the stadium alternated between the Nazi flag (red with white disk and swastika) and the other flag I saw was the same except it seemed to have a 6 pointed star of david in place of the swastika. I ran the DVD back a few times as I didn't think I could've seen what I thought I saw.... but it did appear to be a star of david, although smaller in size to what the swastika would be on the same type flag.

That would be the May 1938 match in Berlin, which England won 6-3. The game provided a controversial moment before it had even started, when the senior Football association official on the tour ordered that the England team give the Nazi salute.

I've selected out the relevant parts of two of the pictures. To me it looks like it could be a displayed eagle with a shield on it.

How about the flag of the "(Nazi-)German National League for Gymnastics"?

That definitely looks like it might be it. The emblem does look offset towards the hoist, and it does look like a vertical triband with white disc, which this flag definitely is. Success?

I've posted a photo of the banner of the Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (NSRL) being presented in 1938 here.
There is an illustration of a NSRL flag on FOTW http://flags.skalman.nu/flags/de}ns_va.html though I do not understand why the German umbrella organization for sports 1934-1945 is listed under the header "Other NSDAP flags", it should in my opinion be listed as a government organisation at
